When I’m not busy crafting brands for my clients for my day to day, you’ll find me lost in a world of whimsy, sketching playful illustrations and weaving enchanting children’s stories. This passion blossomed into the creation of Evan & Emma, where my love for art and storytelling come to life.
A brief introduction to Evan & Emma. These characters are my creation born from the back and forth storytelling with my boys while driving to and from school, errands, the zoo, basically every minute we spent in the car. Hours and hours of audio files later (and lots of laughs), the ideas and creativity over the years are being crafted into books young readers will surely love.
Hat tip to authors such as Beverly Cleary with her incredible wit and contribution of incredible characters (Ramona, for example) with a zest for life and charisma to encourage young me to read. Not being the biggest fan of reading when I was young, I fortunately found her books and became lost in the world she created. I attribute my curiosity and desire to create to the world these books opened up to me. When I was eight, I was certainly living vicariously through an incredible “Ramona” adventure on the daily. More importantly, I was reading. So stay tuned, and check back often to follow along as this is only the first chapter of Evan & Emma.
A way of releasing these characters “into the wild” in the interim is making them available as wearable art while the books are being completed. I’ve always believed that a thoughtful, handmade gift carries a special kind of magic. This passion inspired me to help others share that same warmth and creativity through my hand-drawn illustrations.
